Erica O’Malley is an Audit Services partner and the national leader of Grant Thornton LLP’s Employee Benefit Plans practice. Grant Thornton LLP is the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, one of the world’s leading organizations of independent audit, tax and advisory firms. As practice leader, she has been instrumental in developing the AICPA Employee Benefit Audit Quality Center, a voluntary membership center for firms that audit employee benefit plans, and served as a founding member on its executive committee for three years. O’Malley is also the national managing partner of Diversity & Inclusion at the firm and leads the Women at Grant Thornton Committee, of which she was a charter member of the working group that helped formalize it and served as the Midwest regional representative until 2011. Her leadership has played a key role in Grant Thornton being named to Working Mothermagazine’s 100 Best Companies list each year since 2006, including Top 10 honors in 2009 and 2012. She is a board member of the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago and the NIU Executive Leadership Forum. She is also a member of the Illinois CPA Society and AICPA, where she serves on the Women’s Initiative Executive Council. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University and is a certified public accountant in Illinois.
